Guilt-Free Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

guilt-free-banana-chocolate-chip-cookies

If you’ve been on the hunt for healthier chocolate chip cookies, we are happy to say your search is finally over.

These tasty treats pack a big, rich, decadent chocolate punch but without all the sugar, fat and calories found in conventional recipes. Featuring just rolled oats, banana, chocolate chips, almond milk and maple syrup, they’re not just super simple to make, they’re also much healthier than classic chocolate chip cookies. And don’t worry: Just because they’re guilt-free doesn’t mean they taste like cardboard. They are delicious.

Bonus: If you’ve got little ones, this is a fun recipe to make together. Enlist them to mash the bananas or stir the mixture, or roll the batter into balls then squish them into cookie shapes.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 2 medium bananas
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. almond milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Stevia, to taste

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. In a large mixing bowl, mash bananas with back of fork until smooth and creamy.

3. Add all remaining ingredients and mix till combined.

4. Roll batter into balls the size of golf balls, then use the back of a spoon to press them into cookies.

5. Bake for 10 minutes then let sit till firm.

Makes about 16 cookies.
